Towers of Svaneti (2019)

I painted this watercolor from life during my bicycle journey through Georgia in 2019. I was deeply impressed by the ancient towers of Svaneti, rising unexpectedly among the houses and mountains, almost like giant mushrooms growing from the earth. Their simple, monumental forms seemed to belong naturally to the landscape, carrying within them the history and spirit of this remarkable place. I wanted to capture not only their distinctive character, but also the atmosphere of that quiet evening in the mountains and my own sense of discovery while traveling through Svaneti.
